Looking for meaningful work or a volunteer opportunity? Learning Assistant Wanted!

We are looking for high energy, positive individual to work with a young girl who loves music, nature, and people! She has autism and needs support with most daily living tasks.

During your sessions, you will work one-on-one with our daughter, guiding and modeling language development and daily living skills, through play and music. You will also spend time attending community activities such as going to the library, attending the Maiden's group, YAN activities, swimming, walking in nature, etc.  Hopefully joining a drum circle /jam circle (know of any?)/choir? Each session lasts 2-3hrs, and we ask that you are available a minimum of 2 sessions per week and committed to our team for a minimum of 6 months, this said, becaude summer is coming and will wind-down sessions, we need a minimum commitment until end of June/ beggining of July. We will train the right individual. 


We want to hear from you if:


-You are fun, dynamic and confident.


-You are a flexible person, you can adapt to changing  plans given your client’s energy, ability, and motivation.


-You have a Bachelors and you have a background in Education or Early Childhood Education AND experience working with young children. A combination of demonstrated critical thinking skills and experience will be considered.


-You can self-reflect on your work. 


-Musical! Must feel comfortable singing and hopefully play an instrument! Can you play guitar? Piano?


-You have a clear criminal record check. 


Immediate part-time needs are: Mondays through Fridays  130-430pm or 3pm-5pm.


on call sessions include evenings with her sibling.


Volunteer hours depending on your schedule-ideally Saturday or Sunday mornings.



Wages are $18-$20/hour (depending on experience-self-employed status)
