This new program will be exploring history through an artist lense.  Pre-registration is required for this program and is open to ages 6 - 12 years old.

Each week we will be learning a new drawing technique in a different part of the museum: Contour Shading in the bottle room, Perspective drawings from historical street scenes, Body Gesture drawings and Victorian clothing, Drawing faces from the past, Shadow and light drawings of curious objects and finally combining all of these techniques into an Epic Scene!

This program will be lead by Lana Jamieson and Sarah Taekema who are both certified art teachers who are passionate about History.

Please email the museum at or call 250 362 7722 for more information and to register for this program.

Last week we were making perspective drawings of local historical buildings and street scenes. At our next session we will be making gesture drawings in Victorian costumes.  We'll have some upclose time with Victorian hats from our collection and working on an Art Nouveau style poster!  We will also be assembling our own portfolios to keep our art safe and flat! To register for this program call 250 362 7722 or email
