BC Culture Days | Fête de la culture is an annual event on the last weekend of September - a pan-Canadian event for everyone to celebrate their community’s culture. This year’s theme is: “OnBeat” focusing on music and rhythm and we have quite a few music events to tie in.

>The Museum is open again from 11am to 5pm by donation
>We are hosting the “Onezie Parade” musical group for a kids concert and recycled instrument workshop from 2-4pm

>We’ve invited a bunch of our longtime rosslanders and ski enthusiasts to celebrate Olaus Jeldness' 162nd birthday with us on Saturday evening! From 5-7, join us for birthday cake and the type of tea party Olaus would approve of! His birthday is October 1st, but we’ve chosen to celebrate a couple of days early.
>Following that, head over to the Miner’s Hall for the Avant Garde Cabaret 2018 - Bigger, Better, Weirder (ticketed event available at the Grind) or The Flying Steamshovel for “The Peelers” - an east coast Celtic punk band! (ticketed event available at the Shovel)

Sunday:
>We’re working on a culture crawl around downtown Rossland, including a few heritage buildings, cabine, The Rossland Light Opera Players, Kootenay Gateway, Madhu Collective, and anyone else that might like to open their doors to the public on a Sunday! We'll be starting at Seven Summits Coffee Company around 11am - bring your own mug for some delicious complimentary coffee!
>The Rossland Youth Action Network is BACK IN ACTION at their new space and opening their doors to the community to come check it all out. There will be a BBQ (weather-dependent), BEATZ, and tours of the space. Staff will be on site to answer any questions you have about ongoing renovations, upcoming programs, and other YAN-related stuff. Bring your skateboard and get gnarly at the new skate-park while you're at it!
This weekend-long event has all been made possible in part thanks to the Columbia Kootenay Cultural Alliance.

There is also the Rossland Acoustic Music Camp on all weekend up at the Red Roof Church for those interested in learning to play an acoustic instrument.

Following week, October 4th:
Arts BC is coming to town to host a Rossland Community Cultural Forum for anyone interested in the long-term growth of Rossland’s cultural landscape - an all day workshop at the Miner’s Hall. Open to everyone interested in Rossland’s arts & culture with a $20 registration and lunch available for an additional $10. Find more info on our events page or
