The next green drinks in Rossland will focus on the "Trials and tribulations of the Harrop-Procter Community Forestry Initiative"
Rami Rothkop of Harrop-Procter will discuss a range of topics, including explaining his communities successful bid to become BC's first eco-system-based community forest licence, the communities experience in becoming FSC certified, how certification has effected the forest industry, and why buying local eco-certified wood products makes sense in an increasingly globalized marketplace.

BIO Rami Rothkop
Rami ran a successful tree planting business for 16 years before becoming disenchanted with conventional forestry practices. He then became involved in several environmental campaigns, including the successful creation of the West Arm Wilderness Park on Kootenay Lake. He is one of the founding members of the Harrop-Procter Community Forest, and continues to sit on the board and work with that organization. He also is chair of the board of the Silva Forest Foundation, and is currently employed as a building contractor in addition to his community forest work.
