Red Mountain Resort, home of the legendary ski area Red Mountain, is seeking an experienced destination ski resort Marketing and Communications Manager.

This is a terrific opportunity to work for a growing ski resort in the beautiful mountain community of Rossland, that boasts a recreation lifestyle including world-class skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, golf and many other activities.

Reporting to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing and Communications, this position manages all marketing and communications duties for the ski resort with a mandate to increasing skier visits, company revenues and resort awareness.  This is a full-time position.  The ideal candidate is a team player, a skilled skier/snowboarder with experience and strong relationships in the ski industry.

Responsibilities:
1. Annual marketing and communications planning, budgeting and financial management
2. Execution of marketing and communications initiatives including:
o Website development and content management
o Email marketing
o Social networking
o Media planning and buying
o Advertising and promotions
o Creative and design development
o Film, video and photography management
o Collateral development
o Tradeshows and special events including on-snow competitions and festivals
o Resort partner and sponsor relations
o Media communications and public relations
o Snow reporting
o Database management
o Research and performance measurement
3. Working closely with Red’s Director of Sales and revenue departments including F&B, Snowsports School, Retail and Rentals, Red Reservations and Real Estate
4. Supervision of Red’s Events, Web and Snow Reporting Departments.

Qualifications
1. Experience
• Prior resort experience required preferably within the ski industry
• Prior marketing, communications and special events experience essential
2. Education
• Post Secondary education with a university marketing or business degree preferred
3. Computer Skills
• Proficiency in Windows Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required
• Proficiency with social networking websites required
• Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator  and video editing software are assets
4. Attributes

• Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines with an eye for detail

• Must possess a passion for mountain culture
• An excellent command of written and spoken English is essential.  Spoken French and German are assets.
