Groovessence Create : A Day Workshop with Sophie Barbarics

A day of crawling, spiralling, brainstorming and creating. A dance workshop where not only your body, but your mind is challenged too.

Breaking free of the norm, stepping out of your comfort zone, and letting your creativity take over. Creating something from nothing. Together. Bold and playful,

Raw and honest. Something that reflects, something that has depth.  Who would've thought that with a little trust you can do anything?!


This workshop is for you if you:

— like art but never danced before,

— like to dance but never done any other art before,

— are curious how we can melt different art forms into each other.

*12:00 - 13:30 - Creative Process (using more of our imagination then our bodies)

*13:30-14:30 LUNCH BREAK

*14:30 - 15:30 GroovEssence movement class

*15:45 - 18:00 Creative Process; bringing your art alive by motion

*18:00 - 18:30 - Experience Exchange & discussion

All the necessary equipment will be provided (included in the price). You will just need to bring yourself.

Instructor: Sophie Barbarics

Sophie Barbarics is a versatile creative working in the field of dance as an educator, choreographer and organizer. Sophie is currently living in Nelson, BC, originally from Hungary.  She strongly believes that changing our perspective is essential - to grow, to find new pathways, to make our mind more flexible.  She believes the point of our century is to understand the uniqueness of individuality in order to help dancers/people bring their best to become a change-maker of the future.
