Ardis Urquhart - Celebration of Life

Ardis Urquhart

Ardis Amelia (Watts) Urquhart, 66, passed away June 10, 2019 at home through the compassion of MAID (Medical Assistance in Dying), which saved her suffering from the terminal disease CJD that attacks one in a million people. Ardis was born Jan 20, 1953 in her loved Cape Breton, daughter of Ralph and Jane (Macleod) Watts. She is survived by her loving husband, Gary and son Scott of Rossland, BC, sisters Barbara Goodman of Saint John, NB, and Ruthie Watts of Inverness, NS

Ardis loved Rossland and enjoyed hiking and skiing with her dog and good friends, she loved camping, kayaking, bridge and most of all talking to people “Who’s your father boy”. She listened and knew all about you after a short talk.

Ardis graduated from Mount Allison University, had a successful Real Estate career, and was president of Kootenay Real Estate Board, president of Rossland Chamber of Commerce and many other accomplishments.

Ardis, Scott and Gary want to thank all the generous support we have received from our friends and neighbours. Ardis loved unconditionally and invites you to share in that love at her Celebration of Life held at Red Mountain Thursday, June 20, from 4-8pm. For those who would like to donate in Ardis’ name please donate to “Friends of Rossland Range”, https://www.rosslandrange.org/FORR/donate.html , who maintain the cabins she loved to ski to for her grilled cheese sandwiches.

Ardis Urquart's Celebration of Life is tomorrow at Red Mountain day lodge, 4-8 PM.

If you want to hear the eulogy etc. the plan is that everyone will gather together at 4:20 and the eulogy and other talks will begin at 4:30 (that's what they are aiming for.)

There's a terrific slide show of Ardis, family, friends, and colleagues that will be playing.

If you knew and liked Ardis and want to come, you're invited. It's not just close family and friends. She welcomed everyone and personified the friendly spirit of Rossland, so the party in her honour is in the same spirit.
